PSJ Mission

PSJ promotes the development of pharmaceutical sciences for the purpose to respond the needs and expectations from society in Japan.

The Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin (Chem. Pharm. Bull.) publishes Reviews, Current Topics, Communications, Regular Articles, and Notes monthly in print and online. Chem. Pharm. Bull. is devoted to the publication of original reports on cutting-edge research including creative approaches and novel ideas for sharing the urgent and valuable results with all readers of this journal. Chem. Pharm. Bull. covers various topics of current interest in all of chemistry and interfacing areas of pharmaceutical sciences. The main targeted subjects of Chem. Pharm. Bull. are as follows: Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, In Silico Science, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmacognosy, and Natural Product Chemistry.

The Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin (Biol. Pharm. Bull.) publishes the results of original research that contributes significantly to the biological aspect in the pharmaceutical and health sciences, including basic and clinical applications. The journal encourages contributions describing research at the interface of basic, experimental, and clinical pharmacy. Scientific areas within the scope of the journal include Pharmacology, Molecular and cellular biology, Biopharmacy and pharmacokinetics, Toxicology, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Health statistics, Regulatory science, Pharmaceutical education, and Clinical pharmacy. Biological aspect of Organic chemistry, Medicinal chemistry, Chemical biology, Analytical chemistry, Physical pharmacy, Pharmacognosy, Natural product chemistry, Hygiene, Environmental science, and even Miscellaneous is within the scope of Biol. Pharm. Bull. Theoretical and experimental peer-reviewed full-length Regular Articles, Communications, Notes and Reviews are welcomed.

YAKUGAKU ZASSHI publishes Reviews, Regular Articles, Notes, and Case Reports monthly in print and online. The focus of YAKUGAKU ZASSHI is the publication of original reports on pharmaceutical and clinical research, including creative approaches and novel ideas, for sharing significant results with the readers of the journal. YAKUGAKU ZASHHI covers various topics of current interest in all areas of pharmaceutical sciences, particularly clinical pharmacy or pharmaceutical education.
The main target subjects of YAKUGAKU ZASSHI are Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Education, Pharmacology, Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics, Regulatory Science, Medical Statistics, Hygiene, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Medical Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.

BPB Reports, which covers biological aspects of the pharmaceutical and health sciences, is open access and published online. BPB Reports publishes a shorter paper containing limited research results, called a Report, in addition to a longer Regular Article. Informational data sets obtained in the fields of health sciences (e.g. environmental monitoring and safety testing of foods or chemicals) or in small-scale clinical studies are considered for publication in BPB Reports.

"Farumashia" is issued as the bulletin of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (PSJ) on the 1st of every month. Farumashia covers the latest developments, leading edges, current topics, and so on in all areas of pharmaceutical sciences, which are explained and introduced in special issues that are published six times a year. Moreover, Farumashia is rich in a variety of contents and provides various information to the members of the PSJ.

MEDCHEME NEWS is issued as a quarterly magazine by the Division of Medicinal Chemistry of the PSJ. The articles primarily written in Japanese cover topics in medicinal chemistry and drug discoveries, R&D in the pharmaceutical and bio-venture industries, opinions and essays from prominent scientists, feature articles of current drug discovery, and commentary of some topics relating to medicinal chemistry.
