Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin
moves to a fully Open Access model

2023/11/09

The Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin is pleased to announce that the journal will move to a fully Open Access model in 2024.

Articles submitted to the journal from January 1, 2024, and accepted for publication will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This license allows users to share and adapt an article, non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given. Authors will retain the copyright in their work.

Open Access publication via open licensing increases the global availability of scholarly research. Open licensing allows researchers and others to freely access - and conditionally reuse - published articles without obtaining prior permission from the copyright holder.

The journal will retain the current submission fee, but move from a per-page to a per-article charge. For society members, Regular Articles and Reviews will be charged at a discounted 60,000 yen and Communications and Notes a discounted 40,000 yen. For full details on copyright licensing, publication fees and other new policies, see the revised Instructions to Authors.

The Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, one of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan's principal journals, has a long and distinguished history of publishing excellent research from around the world. The journal is a vital component of the society's efforts to enable effective knowledge exchange for the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences.
