入村達郎順天堂大学医学部教授がFIP BPS（科学部門）のChairmanに就任

ブエノスアイレスにて開催されたFIP（国際薬学連合。日本薬学会は1995年に加盟）年会の期間中に開催されたCouncil Meeting（評議員会会議）において、入村達郎 東京大学名誉教授・順天堂大学医学部教授のFIP BPS（科学部門。Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences） Chairman（議長）への就任が承認されました。任期は同年会終了後から4年間です。
入村先生は2008年以来本会のCouncil Delegate（評議員会における代表）に就かれており、評議員会会議への出席等の任に当たられ、「FIP Fellow」や「PSWC Recognition Award」といったFIPの各賞を受賞される等、FIPに関する本会の活動に多大な貢献をしておられます。本会は、入村先生のFIPにおけるこれらの活動実績を踏まえ、本年2月8日に開催されたBPS Meetingにおいて実施された次期BPS議長選挙の候補者として入村先生を推薦し、同選挙において入村先生が次期BPS議長に選出されていたところです。
BPS議長は、FIPの主要な役職の一つであり、「experienced, internationally recognized pharmaceutical scientist who provides leadership and vision for the BPS and FIP」であることを要し、BPSおよびFIPに関する重要な責務＊を負います。過去には杉山雄一氏（理研）および橋田充氏（京大院薬）がBPS議長を務めており、入村氏は日本人3人目となります。
FIP加盟団体である本会として、入村先生のこのたびのご就任を心よりお祝い申し上げるとともに、FIPに関する本会の活動への先生のご尽力に深く感謝申し上げます。
＊ The main responsibility of the Chair of the BPS is to assist FIP in achieving its strategic goals, especially with respect to the pharmaceutical sciences. Together with the Scientific Secretary, the Chair provides liaison between pharmaceutical science and pharmacy practice, and is tasked specifically with stimulating synergy between the Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Board of Pharmaceutical Practice. Interaction with all bodies of FIP is expected as well as close communication with FIP Staff in The Hague.
The Chair of the BPS is responsible for the organisation and coordination of
- Two BPS meetings a year (finalising the agenda and the minutes in collaboration with the Scientific Secretary and FIP staff)
- Two BPS ExCo meetings a year (finalising the agenda and the minutes in collaboration with the Scientific Secretary and FIP staff)
- Drafting the FIP-BPS Strategic Plan in collaboration with the FIP Scientific Secretary.
The Chair also assists the FIP Scientific Secretary in his/her responsibility with respect to the activities of the BPS, including the organisation and coordination of
- BPS SIGs
- BPP/BPS joint Working Groups
- Symposia at the FIP annual congress (supported by the FIP Programme Committee)
- The BPS budget
